Not to be outdone by Amazon Prime Day and its semi-literal Christmas in July (thanks to deals possibly even better than those offered on Black Friday), eBay just released summer deals today at savings up to 79% off, across product categories from home to fashion, tech to travel — no membership required.
Amazon has long boasted about its goal to make Black Friday irrelevant, creating Prime Day as a rewards system for its $99/year annual membership base. And fellow online retailers like eBay are not only joining suit, but stepping up the competition. In a recent business analysis by Fortune, 77% of Prime Day 2016 deals were better than their Black Friday counterparts last year, and another 10% of Prime Day deals tied equivalent Black Friday prices.
And in an apparent move to prove that the original online auction site isn’t just for secondhand shopping, eBay Deals are pushing visibility for the brand’s own data that shows that 80% of the items listed on eBay are new with tags (NWT) — “available to buy now — no bidding required!” reads the press release.
Additionally, eBay is offering a new Price Match Guarantee on more than 50,000 deals, where eBay will match the lower price of a competitor if one can be found. (Get those dueling browser windows, reader!)
