There are the things you clean regularly, and then there are the things…you don’t. Sometimes it’s because you dread it, and something it’s because they just don’t need attention all that often. Either way, it’s got to get done sometime, and this weekend might be the perfect time. Consider this your friendly nudge and reminder.
This Weekend’s Assignment: Clean three of your most-used and most-neglected small kitchen appliances.
Toaster: Unlike my blender, which gets washed each time I use it, the toaster can go for a long period of time before I remember to clean it out. If yours is like mine, you have a pile of crumbs rattling around in there. And if it’s stainless steel like mine, it is also just one big smudged fingerprint.
Coffee Maker: If your morning cup of brew is tasting more like a sock you remove after work, then your dirty coffee maker might be to blame. Instead of just rinsing the glass carafe each day, give the whole thing a more rigorous cleaning. Then start fresh again tomorrow.
Microwave: If you’ve been avoiding your microwave, wait no longer. It’s actually a pretty easy chore to get rid of all the gunk and dissolve food splatters. And you can do it naturally without chemicals.
Remember, as with all of our Weekend Projects, just do what you have the time and energy to do. This is a marathon, not a sprint!
