The Fresh Prince of Bel Air has a royally huge crush on Hawaii real estate — or at least he did. Will Smith and his “Girls Trip” star wife Jada Pinkett Smith have just sold their 6.91 acre property on the Hawaiian island of Kauai (the couple previously unloaded another Kauai estate in 2011).
The Hollywood power couple said goodbye to the compound which sits atop a bluff overlooking Secret Beach on the island’s North Shore. The home’s location isn’t the only secret thing about this piece of real estate—the sale itself was hush hush. Variety reports the off-market deal fetched the couple $12 million.
Privacy reigns supreme at this island compound. The ultra-private residence sits behind two gated entrances and features a total of four residential structures scattered across its nearly seven acres. The home’s two-story main house includes three bedrooms, and three and a half bathrooms, as well as two lava rock fireplaces. A guest house, a carriage house, and a studio round out the property. In total, there are seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, and two half baths.
The home is built for entertaining. The new owner likely won’t want for things to do. They could, for example, throw a party in the home’s 50-foot-long swimming pool which also comes complete with a poolside pavilion and bar. If they like long walks and picking their own fruit, the home’s mature fruit orchard should suffice. Tennis anyone? There’s a court ready for play. Or if all of that gets old, they could meander down the property’s deeded access trail to Secret Beach and go for a dip in the Pacific.
The home also touts quite the celebrity pedigree (in addition to the Smiths). The original owner is basketball icon and LA Laker star Kareem Abdul Jabbar. The home’s custom-designed extra high ceilings and doorways are a lasting reminder of the original 7’2″ owner.
