Flip or Flop’s Christina El Moussa Takes Elle Decor Inside Her Bachelorette Pad

It’s been a busy year for Flip or Flop star Christina El Moussa, and she’s not slowing down. The HGTV heavyweight, whose split from husband and co-star Tarek El Moussa back in December had the internet in a frenzy, recently opened up her doors to Elle Decor for a home tour.

El Moussa still lives in the 6000-square-foot Orange County home she bought with Tarek three years ago, but now that it’s just her, their two children, and a gray French Bulldog named Cash inside, she’s put even more of her favorite “rustic glam” trademark on everything. (Honestly, that just seems to mean a lot of black and white, mirrored furniture, and crystal chandeliers, with boatload of wallpaper and rhinestone encrusted accessories.)

When they first got the house, it was done in a combo of beige, brown, and travertine—not exactly the gussied up glam El Moussa goes for. Instead, she utilized a trellis design through multiple rooms and added in luxe details like crushed velvet curtains and shimmering crystal. In the home gym, El Moussa says she does mostly yoga and runs on the treadmill while watching reality TV. You didn’t think she got those abs of steel by knocking down drywall, did you?

There is a trace or two of her past with Tarek however—the beamed ceiling in the family room is made of wood reclaimed from one the homes she and Tarek flipped on their show, and a Flip or Flop sign sits on the mantle in the billiards room.

The highlights of Chateau El Moussa include an adorable children’s room (with shoutouts to the Berenstain Bears and Amelia Bedelia) and a lush backyard, filled with a swim-up grotto, rocky waterfall, and waterslide. (And the requisite giant swan pool float, of course.) There’s also a putting green, where “all the little kids chill.”

Despite their complicated split back in December, Christina says that she and Tarek are still filming Flip or Flop, and are co-parenting their two children, “so at the end of the day I just want to be positive and not think about anything else.” Same, Christina. Same.
