There’s a new renovating couple on the block. Meet Andy and Ashley Williams, the hosts of HGTV’s newest Flip or Flop installment based in Fort Worth, Texas.
The army veterans met on a tour in Baghdad, Iraq when Andy smoothly approached Ashley in the gym to ask if she needed a trainer… and the rest is history. After living together in a 200 square foot trailer, the couple returned to Fort Worth where, after a rocky transition into civilian life, they embarked on their flipping journey.
Andy, a Texas native, had already begun investing in real estate but the urge to start a family prompted the couple to flip it (no pun intended) into their family business.
“I’ve always viewed real estate as a way to add value to the community while making above average returns,” Andy told HGTV. “I decided to study the real estate market closely and invest with a purpose for pathway to transition from Iraq back home in Texas.”
Ashley, who oversees the design aspect of the business, grew up with a spunky mama who was always making fun decorative changes around house. “Growing up my mom was something like a chameleon. Nothing was ever the same,” Ashley said. “At one point she was really into pink and gold, and instead of changing the staples of the house, she added end tables with gold legs and pink marble tops.” I think it’s safe to say we can expect to see plenty of fun textures, prints, and bold colors throughout Ashley’s designs this season.
Be sure to check out the transformations in Fort Worth at the hands of the husband and wife duo. As a bonus, they’ll be accompanied by their adorable miniature flippers, Ashton and Amina.
Flip or Flip: Fort Worth premieres on November 2 at 9/8c on HGTV.
