How many times a day do you stop what you’re doing in order to wonder where in the world Diane Keaton hangs her many hats? What kind of furniture is she sitting on when she sips either the red or white varietals of her wine, The Keaton? Well, thanks to a feature in Wine Spectator, our Diane-design related questions have been answered.
A serial house flipper and Pinterest enthusiast, it’s no surprise that her home is a stunner. Famously nomadic, she calls the 8,000 square foot home she designed her dream home. “I always had an interest in homes and the concept of home, but the problem is I never really land and stay. Something’s wrong,” she tells Wine Spectator, “but something’s right, because I love it.”
The rustic-industrial house features an envy-inducing outdoor fireplace and a sub-zero wine fridge. Her favorite room is her “damn kitchen” which was built around the concept of the passing of time, “the crumbling, the abandoned, the repurposed and the reimagined.” The home also pulls in elements of her former apartment in the Sam Remo building in New York with exposed brick and wood floors.
Diane shares the home with her two children and their dog. And while she claims not to have any friends, the home is perfect for entertaining. I’m available to swing by anytime and I know all the harmonies to this.
