Anne Hathaway Picks Up a Connecticut Colonial Holiday Home for $2.79 Million

Actress Anne Hathaway has a home for the holidays this year: A 1920s Connecticut Colonial straight out of a storybook.

Anne and husband actor Adam Shulman — who call New York City home with a $2.55 million Upper West Side apartment they bought last year — now have a cozy 4,561-square-foot retreat where they can get away from it all about an hour outside of NYC in the seaside town of Compo Beach near Westport, Conn., Variety reports. The couple paid $2.79 million for their new digs.

No doubt they’ll be making the historic home their camp for the holidays this year, as new neighbors spotted the pair out buying Thanksgiving supplies in weeks past.

With five bedrooms and five and a half bathrooms, we can’t wait to see how Anne will decorate for the season. There’s certainly a lot of lovely architecture to work with between the coffered ceilings, stone fireplaces and the cozy country kitchen. Not to mention plenty of room to grow her own tree for next year — the mini-estate sits on a plot of nearly a full acre.

Beyond the cobblestone paths and “ornamental English gardens,” the property also boasts a 1,518-square-foot pool house, finished in a barn style with a loft and rustic exposed wood beams.

Variety reports this is Anne’s third property, after the Upper West Side apartment and second six-bedroom, five-bath home in the Laurel Canyon area of Los Angeles she bought in 2009 for $2.2 million.
