So you are ready to start your career as a WAHM (work-at-home-mom) but aren’t sure the direction to go or how to get started? I am here to help give you some ideas and tips to get started on your new adventure that will benefit you and your family for years to come!

I’ve been asked about this so much and I finally decided to write a post about it so it is all in one spot. Even better? I was able to team up with Intel® to show you just how accessible and efficient the new 8th Generation Intel® Core™ processor is because the one thing you DO need for working at home is a great personal computer.

I recommend getting a computer that is within your budget and is also a laptop so that you can take it places. Whether you are working at the park, in the carpool line, or even in the hospital while you are in labor (yes that was literally me 2 weeks ago). Lol I didn’t go to the hospital with my computer to work while in labor but since I ALWAYS have it on me I thought, why not! This is going to take awhile. 😉

The Lenovo Yoga 720 is lightweight and can be folded in half so you can work on it like a tablet. I feel like it is the best of both worlds.

Busy moms know efficiency is the KEY to getting things done, hence why we are such great multi-taskers, am I right? And I know I am not the only one who might be a tad impatient with slow technology. Does anyone else remember the age of the dial-up internet? Shudder. We can never go back. Things are just getting faster and more amazing and the computers these days are a thing of beauty. Especially with Intel’s new 8th Gen Intel® Core™ processor that is specifically designed to keep up with everything we need it to do. Homework, cooking, working, streaming Game of Thrones when the kids are in bed (why oh why do we have to wait 2 more years???). Anyways, a must have for any busy mom, especially one who is ready to begin her adventures as a work-at-home mom, is a new computer with an 8th Gen Intel® Core™ processor. It allows you to get things done fast and easy, shop with built-in security, and immerse yourself in leading-edge entertainment. And the prices are great! Just right for you to use as your first investment in your new career! I can’t recommend trying this adventure out and seeing what you can bring to your life!

So I want to share some ideas for working at home and then I will share what the benefits are, in my personal opinion. Hopefully that can help you as you navigate your options!

All of these jobs come with different benefits and one is bound to fit well with your lifestyle. Needing a personal computer is the only requirement they all have so now is a great time to pick up a Lenovo Yoga 720 with the new 8th Generation Intel® Core™ processor. It will give you all of the speed and versatility that you will need for your new job and you can find one at retailers nationwide. I got mine at Best Buy as pictured here.

As far as working at home, I personally believe there are so many benefits and I want to share a few of those with you. Not just your typical glorified version of what it’s like to work from home, like, work in your PJs, avoid the commute, answer emails from a hammock while sipping a pineapple daiquiri. But there are some things that might surprise you about what it’s like when you don’t have to go into the office every day.

Benefits of Working From Home

Aside from the obvious financial benefit of working at home, I wanted to share a few other benefits I have found to be true with me and the other women I know who work at home, both those with and without kids.

Work From Anywhere—and I Mean Anywhere!

Plane, train or automobile (passenger only) ha! Hotels, doctor appointment waiting rooms, carpool line, beach, camping, Disney World parking lot. Just to name a few of the places I have worked. You might think this sounds like you are always tied to your work but instead you are utilizing the downtime that naturally occurs in life. Having a computer that is thin, lightweight and has a long battery life allows me to work all of these places and more! Being able to work remotely allows me the freedom to do all of the things that are important to me. If I worked in a traditional office again more than half of those scenarios wouldn’t exist. Instead my kids and I can drop everything and head to the beach anytime.

You’ll Save Money

No more commuting costs, you won’t need a separate work wardrobe and you can eat lunch and grab your favorite beverage all in the comfort of your own home at a fraction of the cost. I find that since I am home, I am able to make healthier choices and we eat out less since I am home to begin dinner and stick to our meal plan.

You Are Always Learning and Can Become More Independent

I think there is something to be said about continual self improvement. When you work at home you are always learning to keep up with the new tools and trends. Having a personal computer that is well equipped to run these programs and tools and online learning resources is crucial. The Lenovo Yoga 720 with the new 8th Generation Intel® Core™ processor is just that PC. Since you are working at home you will need to be self-motivated and find answers yourself. This will increase your independence!

You Make Your Own Schedule

This has been huge for me as a work at home mom. If my kids have a field trip I can be there. I also try to work a few hours before everyone wakes up and then I work 3 days a week when the kids are in bed and I work during school hours. With a 2 week old baby at home we will adjust that schedule to our new norm. I find that having set hours of “work time” and set hours of other time, like time with my hubby or time as a family.

You Can Stay More Focused

With some willpower and a steady routine, you’ll learn to avoid being distracted by chores or your to-do list. I find it helps to get ready for your work day as well as sticking to those set hours I mentioned earlier. And, in fact, you will probably get more done when you work remotely. That’s because you can control your working situation much more and need to really concentrate, you can just change your status in the group chat to “do not disturb” and buckle down to finish projects.

I hope this list gave you some great ideas to get started and that you are able to get some great inspiration for venturing into the realm of working at home! With the holiday season upon us now is the perfect time to add the

Levono Yoga 720

the new 8th Generation Intel® Core™ processor.

Do you work at home? What do you LOVE about it?

XO~  Melissa
