Inside The Vermont Ski Resort That’s Home to The Bachelor Winter Games

While everyone else is flipping out over USA gold medals in Pyeongchang, Bachelor Nation is fired up over a whole different set of winter games. To compete with NBC’s Winter Olympics audience, ABC debuted its first-ever Bachelor Winter Games. In lieu of the famous California mansion, 26 athletic competitors from previous seasons of the international reality show franchise are cozying up in a private, 1,400-acre ski resort in southern Vermont.

Per Boston.com, the Hermitage Club features a kid-friendly games room, bowling alley, and movie theater. However, since the Bachelor and its many iterations are ostensibly about finding love (and getting tons of free booze), the resort offers plenty of more personal experiences:

Guests can take a nighttime snowcat ride to the Haystack Summit Cabin, then dine and sip cocktails by a roaring fire, skiing back to the clubhouse under the stars. The old-fashioned dining room at the Hermitage Inn serves French-inspired Vermont country cuisine and features an outdoor fireplace that’s ideal for after-dinner drinks and s’mores.

If this insane competition wasn’t limited to the world’s most beautiful people and if zero ice dancing was involved, I’d give my left pinkie to sign up to hang out by a fire with some Merlot. Regular non-Bachelor people have to pay $65,000 for a lifetime membership to the club.

Fan favorites from previous (United States) seasons include former Bachelor Ben Higgins, Ashley I. from every possible format of the franchise, Luke from JoJo’s season of The Bachelorette, and practically every man from Rachel’s season except for Peter, which is really the one everyone wanted. While most of the cast is made up of Team USA, there are also contestants from Bachelor franchises in Canada, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Japan, and China. It looks like the resort has a full wine cellar, so someone told them Bachelor (inter)Nation(al) was coming.

The first of four episodes of the Bachelor Winter Games aired Tuesday night. Watch it on Hulu now.
