Our home is a blend of both of our personalities. Armon is a Creative Director and I ( Myisha) am a Digital Brand Manager. Armon loves to play with color and I love storytelling through design. Pop art definitely speaks to us both; it’s fun, whimsical and most importantly, it provides a feeling of sunshine/brightness to the grey skies of Portland, Oregon.
Our loft is very industrial with concrete floors and white walls and ceilings. It’s simple and doesn’t compete with the art in the house. Adding texture was also important to us, like layering white fur on the couch, bed, and floor to help add a touch of softness to the industrial structure.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Whimsical with a backdrop of Industrial Simplicity
What is your favorite room and why? It’s one big room and we love the entire space. However, we both enjoy the chaise attached to the couch. It’s right by the window that gives you a view of the Pearl District and right in front of you is the “follow your dreams” painting by Sui Tai…It’s the perfect place for us to create and dream together or alone.
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? I found a VINTAGE ARGUS CAMERA 50m with the leather carrying case with an Edison light bulb as the flash at Vintage Pink in Portland.
It’s a lamp! Our place has no overhead lighting so I am always looking for creative ways to add light without just buying another basic lamp.
Any advice for creating a home you love? Take your time; it is a process. Buy things and try them out. You have to take pictures and sometimes sit with it for a day or two to make sure it’s the right fit.
Thanks, Myisha and Armon !
