Ikea hacks are often a go-to solution for a small redecorating budget (and they’re obviously something we cover frequently on Apartment Therapy). But while there are some amongst us who love the challenge of a good DIY, there are also those who are intimidated by anything more complicated than the included instructions.
If you’d rather leave refinishing or sewing projects for another day (or a more experienced DIYer), there’s still an Ikea hack for you. And it packs way more impact than just adding new knobs to a drawer.
We just discovered an Etsy store, Stickers Coloray, that sells removable stickers for your home. But what really sets the shop apart is its selection of stickers designed specifically for popular Ikea pieces. The simplest to apply are a range of square decals made for the Kallax shelves. There are also kid-oriented collections for the Kura bed and Duktig play kitchen.
The shop also sells decals for the ever-popular Malm dresser. Though designed for the classic 3-drawer dresser, you could surely get creative and use the decals on other dressers as long as the drawers are the same size. The decals for the Malm dresser are only for the drawer fronts, but the stickers primarily have black or white background colors, making them look seamless on dressers of those colors.
In addition to selling decals for popular Ikea items, StickersColoray also sells tile decals in standard sizes to level up your backsplashes and bathroom tile, as well as larger decals in shapes. The shop owner, Dominika, lives in Poland, so all items are shipped from there with shipping running between $15-20 to the U.S.
She also manages several other Etsy stores. Love Coloray is mural-style removable wallpaper, and Patterns Coloray is more graphic and geometric wallcoverings. Floral Coloray is, as it implies, floral wallpaper, and Kids Coloray offers whimsical designs for the smaller set. All of her stores feature stain- and tear-resistant removable decals and wallpaper, with a five-star rating average in all storefronts. Dominika also has custom order options, meaning you may be able to snag a wallpaper design you like to adorn your IKEA pieces. No painting, hammering or sanding required.
