First, there was just Black Friday. Then we got Cyber Monday. Then, in 2015, we got Prime Day. While there are an unending list of online sales and promotions, those have remained the three major online holidays for deep discounts (and big spending).
But today Wayfair announced its own shopping day, Way Day. Slated for April 25, its the online retailers first attempt at a standalone holiday like Prime Day. We don’t know exactly what the discounts will be, but the press release promises “Black Friday-low prices” for 24 hours across the site.
The sale will start at midnight Wednesday, with 70,000 products on sale across the entire site. There will also be a focus on seasonal goods, like outdoor furniture, home improvement and grills. There will also be doorbuster deals announced every six hours.
“With the launch of Way Day, we’re offering the steepest savings possible at a time of year that makes the most sense,” Steve Oblak, chief merchandising officer, explained in a press release, citing spring as a time when customers think about redoing and refreshing their homes.
One brand we do know for sure will be on sale is Wayfair’s bed-in-a-box, Nora. Currently priced at $589 for a full, Nora is a a memory foam mattress with high-density support and a cooling top layer infused with jade. Like many competitors, Nora comes with a 100 night trial.
Wayfair credit card holders will also earn an unprecedented 9% back in Wayfair rewards dollars, instead of the everday 3%, for Way Day as well. Wayfair’s credit card acts as a store card that can be used across all Wayfair websites, including Joss & Main and AllModern.
Currently, the Way Day webpage is only a countdown to April 25, with current Wayfair sales featured below, though we will be keeping an eye on that page and updating AT readers with our top picks.
