Meghan Markle Officially Has a Coat of Arms and Her Own Royal Monogram

It has been quite the week for Meghan Markle! The new Duchess of Sussex got married one week ago in the biggest wedding of 2018 – maybe even the biggest wedding of the last decade! The royal wedding has been the most talked about media story for the last several weeks and there’s even more scoop about the newest royal!

Now that she is officially wed to Prince Harry, Meghan has accepted her new royal title. With her husband, the couple is officially the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. But, the couple is so down to Earth, they’ll always be Harry and Meghan in our hearts! Even though we like to see them “just like us,” they are royalty and now Meghan is getting her royal acknowledgment.

Queen Elizabeth II has set Meghan up for 6 months of Duchess training, with the Queen’s favorite private secretary, Samantha Cohen. She is also known as “Samantha the Panther” and will teach Meghan the ins and outs of royal life.

Meghan might not have had any formal training yet, but she exudes a great amount of class and grace, you’d never know she wasn’t born into royalty! On top of her training, Meghan’s coat of arms and royal monogram have been officially revealed.

On Friday, Meghan’s coat of arms was revealed and there were many nods to California in her coat of arms. The blue background of the shield represents the Pacific Ocean off the California coast. Along with that, there are two golden stripes that represent rays of sun. And the coat of arms even includes golden poppies, California’s state flower!

The design of the Arms was agreed and approved by Her Majesty The Queen and Mr. Thomas Woodcock (Garter King of Arms and Senior Herald in England), who is based at the College of Arms in London.

Her Royal Highness worked closely with the College of Arms throughout the design process to create a Coat of Arms that is both personal and representative.

As for Meghan’s royal monogram, it is very simple but quite beautiful. Meghan must be thrilled by this, as she used to have side gig as a calligrapher during her early acting days.

Which do you like better, the coat of arms or the monogram? Both are so beautiful and elegant!
