We Partnered with Houzz to Bring You The Perfect Rug

Rugs are one of our favorite ways to decorate. A big statement piece that can bring a room together, and if you’re careful, its also totally possible to get a great piece for not a lot of money. And one of our longtime go-tos for inexpensive rugs is Houzz. Which is why we are so excited to bring you the first collab of its kind: the Apartment Therapy x Houzz Rug.

It’s an impressive 5′ x 8′ area rug for under $200; and we love it for a lot of reasons: For starters, the white and black abstract design is a fun, minimalist take on the Beni Ourain-style rugs we’ve been seeing everywhere. The colors also go with just about any existing color scheme or room theme. The product image alone also doesn’t do a great job of capturing how big it it, and how great the abstract dashes are, so we got our office dog, Zuzu, to model it for us.

As far as quality, this rug feels a lot more expensive than it is. The handmade shag is both substantial and comfy. (And clearly Zuzu agrees). Even the cotton backing is soft! It would be especially great for bare feet in a bedroom. It’s also hard to tell from the picture, but the rug is a slightly creamy off-white. It might not be invincible to red wine stains, but it will hide normal wear and tear and dirt better than a pure white rug.

In other words, we worked with Houzz to bring you a no-brainer rug for almost any room in the house that also looks unique. And more you can feel good about: A portion of all sales goes to providing well-designed homes to people in need and scholarships for the next generation of home renovation and design professionals.
