This Company Will Build a Beach In Your Backyard

If the closest you’ve managed to come to dipping your toe in some salty ocean water this summer is Googling affordable beach resorts or longingly scrolling through photos of celebrities hanging out at their dreamy beach homes, consider kicking those nagging symptoms of beach withdrawal to the curb by investing in your very own backyard swimming pond.

Before you call out the obvious, a backyard swimming pond isn’t exactly the same as a trip to the coast, but Louisiana-based Zydeco Construction pulls out all the stops to replicate an authentic ocean-side experience, complete with sparkling blue water completely enclosed by sand. To convert the personalized backyard beaches into the ultimate fun-in-the-sun fantasy, customers can also purchase gazebos, volleyball nets, umbrellas and outdoor kitchens.

Owner Eric White puts his all into each backyard beach he constructs, referring to the process involved in his unique builds as “a labor of love.”

“It’s something that for years I would think to myself, ‘What if someone could figure out a way to turn a pond into a paradise?'” White told The Daily Advertiser. “I did as much research as I could and applied it to building these ponds.”

Owning one of those luxury homes that comes with a private beach will cost you a pretty penny (lots of zeroes involved), but constructing a swimming pond starts at around $20,000, and requires far less upkeep than a fancy coastal estate. “Each pond that we do is customized for that area and for the customer,” White explains. “It isn’t something that can be done in a day, they are a true labor of love and I want every customer that comes to me to be happy. We will do something different on every pond we create.”https://ssl.gstatic.com/ui/v1/icons/mail/images/cleardot.gif
