Relax Away Your Stress With This One-Day Deal On Gravity Blankets

If you’re one of the many people who suffer from stress and anxiety, one recent trend wants to weigh you down—in a good way. Weighted blankets have become all the rage for their ability to help stressed-out humans relax and drift off to sleep easier, but their added weight often means they’re pricier than your average throw blanket. Thankfully, one popular brand—Gravity—is on sale for one day only.

We wrote about Gravity’s successful Kickstarter campaign last year, including the positive news that “there’s quite a bit of research on how weighted blankets can reduce the stress hormone cortisol and boost sleep hormones serotonin and melatonin, making it easier to calm down and drift off.”

And even if you don’t suffer from anxiety or trouble sleeping, it sounds just plain nice. Inside its (soft, removable, and washable) outer cover, the blanket is filled with poly pellets that represent seven to twelve percent of your body weight, which is meant to feel like a solid hug—basically swaddling for adults.

We actually had some Apartment Therapy staffers test out a weighted blanket and give their first impressions:

If you’re looking for total relaxation, the makers of Gravity blanket are currently crowdsourcing Moon Pod, a “zero gravity” beanbag meant to deliver “full body weightlessness”. They have currently raised over $1.2 million for the upscale take on a college staple.
