Calling All Plant Parents: Amazon Is Having A One-Day Sale On Succulents

Are you a plant parent looking to grow your brood? Or maybe considering getting your family started? Today might be the day to take the leap. Amazon is offering 30 percent off succulents in four, 12, or 20 packs. These mini succulents (each comes in two-inch square planters) come in a variety pack and can be planted together in terrariums or planters or alone in small pots. The succulents also come fully rooted in the soil, making them easy to re-pot as soon as you get them.

If you’re surprised you can buy plants online, you’re not alone. But it’s a growing trend (one we wrote about in December), and it’s possible to ship healthy plants right to your door. In the case of the succulents, they’re packed in shredded newspaper to keep them stable and warn in transit.

Once you get them, you just have to carefully unpack them (the seller says opening it from the bottom is actually the best way to go) and place them in indirect or soft light. You don’t even need to water them unless the soil is completely dry. (As we’ve pointed out before, death by over-watering is one of the most common ways to kill this desert-loving plant.)

The succulents come with a care guide, but you can also check out our own guide to keeping them alive and thriving. There are even tips for the best way to re-pot them and even propagate them. But before you do that, you gotta buy some! So hurry–this deal only goes until 12 p.m. PT.
