6 Clever Ways to Use Command Strips During the Holidays

I’ve been a renter for most of my holidays as an adult, so I’ve always relied on Command strips to keep our decorations up and our security deposit safe. Now that my husband and I are home owners, we still don’t want to put dozens of holes in the walls. Think of Command hooks and strips as your personal elves, ready to easily hang all your holiday trimmings. When Christmas is over, they just as magically disappear without a mark or trace.

This year, I’m going to try out Laura’s mantra and “wrap as I buy.” She converted a small section of her office into a temporary wrapping station with all her supplies in one, easily accessible place. No more digging through the storage boxes in the closet, looking for the holiday wrapping paper on Christmas Eve, then realizing I’m on my last scrap. Plus, with this set up, now you can show off all that cute wrapping paper too.

Create an unexpected, front door moment and swap your usual wreath for a nostalgic piece. Jen from City Farmhouse relied on a heavy duty hook to support her vintage snowshoes tied together with a chunky, plaid bow. She actually created an entire holiday haven for her patio using Command hooks, so be sure to click on over to see all of her wonderful ideas.

The key to a dramatic garland display is proper draping. Megan’s DIY foraged garland frames her extra large doorway perfectly with a little help from Command hooks. P.S. Check out her full blog post for evergreen foraging tips and decorating guidelines.

No mantel? No problem. The Command creative team used nickel-finish Command hooks to create a cascading stocking display right down a banister. You know those Command hooks can hold up any stocking stuffers you throw their way.

How inventive is Kelly? When her mantel didn’t have enough room for weighted stocking hangers, she used two Command hooks and a spare baluster to slide her family’s stocking on all at once. Once the holidays are over, off pop the Command hooks and the fireplace will be hole-free.

There’s something about Christmas lights that always feels absolutely magical. Kellie turned her hallway into a wonderland under the stars with her string set and small Command hooks.
